Overview of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing

Aligned with the national "14th Five-Year Plan" for establishing China as a manufacturing powerhouse, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing responds to Yantai’s "9+N" industrial cluster development initiative. The school is driven by the pressing need for highly skilled professionals in the fields of intelligent manufacturing and digitalization, with a specialized focus on industrial robot technology. Emphasizing the cultivation of core technical competencies, the school prepares students to excel in the intelligent manufacturing equipment supply and service chains. Graduates are nurtured to become high-quality technical professionals with a strong foundation in craftsmanship, operational expertise, technological acumen, management capabilities, collaborative skills, and innovation.

Program Introduction

The School currently offers five associate degree programs: Industrial Robot Technology, Intelligent Electromechanical Technology, Intelligent Control Technology, Aircraft Electromechanical Equipment Maintenance, and Civil Aviation Transportation Services. Presently, the School enrolls 486 students, with Industrial Robot Technology being a flagship program. Aircraft Electromechanical Equipment Maintenance and Civil Aviation Transportation Services are key school-enterprise collaborative programs, developed in partnership with industry leaders.

Keeping pace with the evolving manufacturing landscape of Yantai City and Shandong Province, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing has redefined its talent development model to meet the demand for skilled professionals in intelligent manufacturing. By strengthening the depth of its professional offerings, the School has restructured its core curriculum to align with the competency requirements of roles in the intelligent manufacturing sector. This integrated, process-oriented curriculum is designed to enhance students’ professional capabilities, preparing them for the workforce. The School has also cultivated a team of high-level professional leaders, including both internal and external experts, forming a ‘dual-qualified faculty’ known for their advanced technical skills and academic excellence. Through strong partnerships with industry leaders, the School has co-developed multiple on-campus training and internship bases, infusing industry-relevant methodologies into every stage of student training.

Teaching Environment

The School of Intelligent Manufacturing boasts state-of-the-art facilities to support hands-on learning and the development of high-caliber technical talent. Its 15 advanced laboratories, which include the Industrial Digital Technology Application Center, Industrial Robot Integration Lab, Intelligent Control Systems Integration Lab, Virtual Simulation for Intelligent Manufacturing and MES, and the Industrial Vision Technology Lab, cover over 2,600 square meters and house equipment valued at over 20 million yuan.

In partnership with renowned companies such as Huazhong CNC Co., Ltd., Suzhou FANUC Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Huashu Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., and Chutian Technology Co., Ltd., the School has established three joint production-oriented training bases and two industry-specific institutes. These collaborations deeply integrate industry practices into the academic environment, ensuring that students gain practical, industry-aligned skills and knowledge throughout their educational journey.
